Prestbury Golf Club is widely recognised as one of the finest private members` Clubs in the North of England. It is a dedicated traditional Golf Club concentrating on golf and has no leisure complex features. The number of playing members is capped to allow members easy access to the course . 

The course was designed by Harry.S.Colt , one of England's greatest course architects. The natural contours of the land allowed Colt to design 18 holes which provide a series of different golfing challenges, involving  tree-lined, undulating fairways, a small stream and elevated tees and greens.  

The course is maintained and presented with meticulous care. It is visually very attractive providing magnificent views across the wooded course and beyond to the Pennine hills. 

The Club has developed one of the finest practice and teaching facilities in the country. The 27 acre Practice Ground allows golfers to hit drivers, woods and long irons up to 280 yards, short irons to five target greens at varying distances and pitches and bunker shots to a maintained green. A new Indoor Golf Studio has recently been opened which offers players the latest swing video analysis, an electronic launch monitor and a comprehensive highly technical club fitting service overseen by two PGA teaching professionals. 

The Clubhouse buildings were originally a farmhouse dating back to the early 1700`s. Many club-rooms have retained the original oak beams, and the attractive Mixed Lounge has french windows which open out onto an extensive Sun Terrace overlooking the practice putting green. 

Catering facilities vary from snacks on the Terrace to a comprehensive, high quality experience in the dining room. This is complemented by an extensive wine list and active bar service. The Committee organises a wide variety of social events during the year and bridge is popular with the members. 

The Club recognises the latest Equality legislation and family membership is encouraged.  The Club has an active and very successful Junior Section for children aged over 10.
