THE PRACTICE GROUND

Occupying approximately 27 acres and available to members and visitors alike, our practice ground is the envy of many Clubs. Following the good practice guidelines laid out in the booklet available from the office and near the PSi terminal will ensure the practice facilities maintain a high standard and ensure the health and safety of its users.

IRON PLAY AREA - TARGET GOLF

GOOD PRACTICE - Play short irons (8 iron to wedges) from the artificial surface to the measured targets
BAD PRACTICE - Please do not play shots from the turf to the short iron targets

TEACHING AREA

Please refrain from using the end bay of the artificial surface (nearest the long game area) as this is reserved for the professionals.

LONG GAME AREA

GOOD PRACTICE - Playing shots using 7 iron to driver
BAD PRACTICE - Do not play shots using high lofted clubs from the long game area and do not play shots to the short game green from the long game area

THE SHORT GAME GREEN

GOOD PRACTICE - Be aware of other users and rake the bunkers after use
BAD PRACTICE - Please do not hit full shots from around the short game green

THE PUTTING GREEN

Our practice putting green is prepared to the same standards as the greens on the course. The objective is to replicate the surfaces in terms of of speed and texture, helping prepare players for their round. It should only be used for putting practice and short chip shots from the fringe. The green on the practice ground is specifically designed for pitch and lob shots.

GOOD PRACTICE - Playing chip and run shots using lower lofted clubs
BAD PRACTICE - Playing high flying shots using lofted clubs (wedges) or playing shots from between the green and flower bed
